The Magic of Massage in Relieving Stress

Many individuals suffer from too much stress. However, with so many people becoming more health conscious nowadays, not many people know how they can effectively treat their stress without medication. Massage is an excellent way for everyone to relieve some of their stress.

Everyone enjoys a great back rub and massage, however how many actually realize they are seeking many benefits from a back rub. Not only do you feel a lot better after you have had one, but you can also look much better too. A massage stimulates your blood flow throughout your body. Once the stimulation of the blood has begun, the rest of the body becomes stimulated and relaxed.

A massage is a touch therapy that truly can make you feel like a new person. As we all are fully aware, when a child falls down and hurts their arm, we react without thinking about it. What do we do? We rub the child to soothe their pain and make him or her feel better. Well, that same concept is true in adults. When we hurt we should also be rubbed. Of course you do not have to run outside and fall down in order to get a massage. But, you get the idea.

You do not have to go out and spend a lot of your hard earned money on a massage therapist. There are several ways you can do similar techniques to yourself or with the assistance of a partner, without the high costs. Here are a few suggestions you can use the next time one of these issues are bothersome for you.

The next time you realize you spent way too long in front of your computer because your neck and shoulders are hurting you, try a massage on yourself. Start off by using your right hand to touch your left shoulder. Start at the base of your skull and slowly work your way downward on your neck. Then work on your shoulder out towards your left hand. Repeat this for a minimum of four times. Then switch hands and do the same thing to the other side. Once you have done this a few times you can start over, but this time make small circles as you work your way down the neck and out towards the hand. Again, repeat this around four times as well. This is not only great for relieving the discomfort, but also for minimizing your stress.

Massaging your legs is another fairly simple technique to do that can reduce discomfort and relieve stress as well. For this you will need to start off by having your feet flat on the floor. Reach down and begin rubbing your foot, slowly work your way up the leg. This is very simple and a great way to get the blood circulating in your legs and feet. Repeat the same steps for your other leg. Feel free to do this as many times as you want, however try to do it at least five times per leg. Also, be sure you rub your entire leg all the way from the bottom to the top. For the next step, you will need to knead your leg. Start at the bottom and work your way up. This will not only feel wonderful, but over time you will help your legs to look better and have a better shape. You can also lightly bang on your upper thighs to generate circulation and stimulation in them. If you sit for prolonged periods of time you should pay very close attention to your knees. You should rub the front and back of both knees. You can even use your finger tips and apply pressure in circular motions. Next, go onto your calves. You can do the same thing to them that you were doing to your knees. When you are done, it is time for a quick rub down. For this you should gently rub your legs from top to bottom.
